Multi-Agent System for Automated Service Restoration of Shipboard Power Systems

چکیده

Faults in a Shipboard Power System (SPS) may occur due to material casualties of electrical components or widespread fault due to battle damage. These faults may interrupt supply of electrical energy to loads that are important for proper functioning and survivability of SPS. To improve the reliability of SPS, and thus to enhance survivability of naval ships, automatic service restoration is performed. This paper presents an automated service restoration methodology for electric power systems on naval ships, which was developed using multi-agent technology. The structure of the multi-agent system (MAS) for service restoration, the multiple agents that perform the functions involved in service restoration, and the interactions among the agents is discussed in detail. A case study on a test SPS system is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the multi-agent based service restoration methodology. The results for various agents, their interaction, and the final result obtained after performing the case study is discussed.
